Vide Dated 23-09-2025: DPAR 16 SMR 2020 KASS contributions will be deducted for State employees who have opted in.
However, employees who have not yet opted in will by default be considered as opted in. All employees-whether opting in o opting out-must register and obtain approval from the DDO immediately. This is necessary to ensure that their details, including family member information, are made available to SAST for KASS cashless treatment, once their contribution is accounted in K2. In cases where both spouses are Government employees, it is mandatory to indicate which spouse will contribute to KASS in HRMS1.0. If this information is not updated, contributions will be deducted from both salaries by defaul as the system cannot automatically identify whose spouse is whom. Further, as per G.O. No. FD 21 SRP 2024 (1), Bengaluru, dated 27th August 2024, the medical allowance will be discontinued for all employees covered under the KASS Scheme, irrespective of whether they have opted in or opted out.
